CARL KIPP SELECTED BY U.S. COMPOSTING COUNCIL AS 2005 PRESIDENT

CLEVELAND, Ohio - January 27, 2005 – The US Compost Council had their annual meeting in San Antonio, TX, January 23-26, 2005 where the new officers and directors were announced. Carl Kipp was selected as the President of the US Compost Council for 2005. When asked about his presidency, Carl said “It is my privilege and honor to represent the US Compost Council as its President for 2005. I will continue to promote composting and composting standards, expand compost markets, educate the public, and enlist public support.”
Since 1969, Carl has been involved in the processing and marketing of compost. He currently holds three patents on composting processes and equipment. Besides his upcoming presidency of the U.S. Composting Council, Carl serves or has served on the board of numerous associations in his field, including the National Bark and Soil Producers Association (NBSPA) and the Ohio Compost Association (OCA). He has served on quality control and standards committees with both the NBSPA and the OCA, and has often contributed to other national efforts in this field. He also served as a consultant to the US-EPA and to The Ohio State University in the development of national guidelines for pathogen destruction during the composting process.
